Heather Marano
Founder & Director

Heather Marano is the Founder and Director of award-winning awards consultancy Green Door Co. She is passionate about helping businesses uncover and celebrate their stories through award wins.

Heather launched Green Door Co back in 2014 as a full service communications agency. When the first award application crossed her desk a couple years later, she recognised there was a serious gap in the market for expert awards advice and copywriting.

Since that time, Heather has written hundreds of awards submissions, secured hundreds of award wins for clients and built the business to become the leader in the Australian awards space.

In 2015, Heather was awarded a B&T 30 Under 30 Award, and has enjoyed several awards successes in recent years including in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, AusMumpreneur Awards, Small Business Champion Awards, Local Business Awards and HUBB Awards.

Heather is also a mentor with Humans United by Business (HUBB), supporting other business owners on their business journey.

Heather holds a degree in Economic and Social Sciences with Honours from the University of Sydney.

In her free time you’ll find Heather playing guitar, cooking, debating politics or playing with her two young sons.

Clare Watts
Account Manager

Green Door Co’s Account Manager, Clare, is an experienced advertising and marketing professional with over a decade of experience working in media agencies and marketing teams. Working with some of the best-known local and global clients, from Amazon to Aldi, NSW Government, Scoot Airlines and more, Clare has developed her account management skills on campaigns large and small.

Clare’s witty and warm personality makes her a natural at building relationships. She doesn’t just manage clients; she nurtures them with care and genuine interest. Her talent lies in seeing what makes your business truly special and bringing that essence to life in award submissions.

At heart, Clare is an introvert who deeply cares for the world around her. She loves animals, ocean swimming, reading, listening to music, cooking and needlecraft. Her dream is to own a property somewhere between a mountain and the ocean and spend her days in the garden surrounded by animals. Clare lives with her cheeky mini dachshund, Remi, who loves snacks just as much as she does.

Amanda Perris
Copywriter

Green Door Co Awards Copywriter Amanda Perris is a former tradie turned marketing maven with a versatility that is a testament to her diverse background and expertise. As a results-oriented awards writer, certified case study writer, and copy coach, Amanda’s passion lies in unearthing the unique story of every business.

Amanda’s innate curiosity and love of narrative weaves the many threads of a company’s story into a clear, compelling message that connects readers to the humanity behind every wildly successful business. With her experience as a business owner, Amanda understands the challenge of self-promotion and takes pride in being the voice that helps illuminate a company’s achievements.

Outside of work, Amanda is deeply committed to sustainability and lives on a built-from-scratch 100-acre off-grid homestead in country WA with her husband, two dogs and a menagerie of farm animals. When she’s not at the keyboard, you’ll find Amanda elbows deep in the veggie patch, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, reading sci-fi or photographing landscapes.

Megan Keyter
Account Executive

Account Executive Megan Keyter is a vibrant and energetic Green Door Co team member with a talent for insightful analysis, system design and enhancing the customer experience.

With her academic background in South Africa, Megan cultivated her skills at REACT, a prominent customer research firm. As a market researcher, she played a pivotal role in providing clients with valuable insights into target markets, customer behaviour, competitive landscapes, and industry trends. Megan managed the entire research process, from crafting tailored surveys to data analysis and delivering actionable recommendations. She is passionate about building and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Megan enjoys spending time gardening, cooking and baking. She also loves remote camping trips, where the absence of cellphone reception offers a digital detox, and spending time with her 3-year-old goofball Labrador, Rory.

Megan believes a sense of humour is one of the most important things to have in life because, essentially, no one knows how to “life”, so you might as well laugh wherever you can.

Green Door Co boasts a network of a dozen expert copywriters based all over the country who help write our award-winning award submissions. This includes former journalists, creatives, academics, authors and business people who bring a diverse and experienced perspective, along with a creative flair, to awards submission writing.
