Your ability to listen and extremely quickly understand who we are, what we do, how we do it, etc and frame that in well written, quite complementary, ways is impressive to say the least. It is impressive how good GreenDoor has been at understanding us!”
— Troy Rowe, Founder, ReSource

ReSource operates Australia’s largest e-waste facility, 15,000 sqm of advanced recycling capability in Derrimut, Victoria. Processing up to 20 million kilograms of electronics annually and as much as 30% of the state’s total e-waste.
With net-negative energy operations, sustainable TED processing, AI-powered fire protection and the Southern Hemisphere’s first X-ray sorter for mixed batteries, ReSource is setting a new benchmark for the industry. Building on 99% metals recovery, the company is now developing Australia’s first solution to turn e-plastics back into single polymers.
ReSource is on a mission to prove that ethical, scalable and profitable recycling is achievable and to inspire the entire sector to lift its standards.
Objectives
Although ReSource was delivering groundbreaking innovation, they were still in an early growth stage with limited brand awareness. An awards strategy became a lever for building their public profile and establishing credibility with government, potential partners and future clients.
- Profiling and positioning: ReSource needed recognition that would clearly communicate who they are, what they stand for and why their work matters. Awards offered a strong way to differentiate them from competitors and give external validation that their technology innovations were proven and significant. This kind of recognition would also support future opportunities, including grant applications, strategic partnerships and client acquisition.
- Celebrating success: A second objective was to acknowledge the team’s hard work, especially their contributions to pioneering Australian-first solutions. Awards provided a way to highlight and celebrate their achievements and reinforce the company’s innovation culture.
The small but passionate team was already stretched across operations and ReSource found it challenging to identify which awards aligned with their goals, understanding what judges look for and crafting submissions that captured the depth of their impact. They needed specialist support to navigate the complex awards landscape.

Solution
Green Door Co designed a strategic awards program that would put ReSource in front of the right audiences and highlight what makes them genuinely different, both technologically and ethically.
A targeted, multi-layered strategy
We selected a mix of awards that would give ReSource strong visibility across both broad business areas and specialised industry niches:
- Innovation & business awards: Programs such as the Telstra Business Awards and the Pause Awards were chosen to position ReSource as a standout innovator with a compelling, scalable business model.
- Sustainability & industry awards: Prestigious programs like the AFR Sustainability Leaders, the Global Good Awards and sector-focused awards such as the Waste Innovation and Recycling Awards were targeted to establish ReSource as a leader in sustainability and elevate their profile on a global stage.
A narrative built around true differentiation
Each submission centred on ReSource’s genuine Australian-first achievements, including their 860 kW solar system delivering a net-negative energy impact, the Southern Hemisphere’s first X-ray sorter for mixed batteries, and their capacity to process up to 20 million kilograms of electronics a year. It was an approach that helped the judges understand what ReSource did and why it matters.
Hands-on support shaped around founder insight
Green Door Co worked directly with ReSource’s founders to translate their complex innovations into clear, compelling award narratives. By turning highly technical achievements into accessible, high-impact storytelling, we handled the full submission process and ensured their breakthroughs were communicated with the clarity and significance they deserved. All without adding pressure to the small internal team.
