RESINC Solar is an Australian social enterprise specialising in residential and small commercial solar installations along the Eastern Seaboard. With over 20 years in the renewable energy sector, founder, Leigh Storr, has built two award-winning solar companies, installed over 20,000 solar systems, and helped 150,000 homes and businesses transition to green energy solutions. Objectives
After years of quietly building the business outside the spotlight, RESINC Solar reached a critical juncture: broader brand awareness was essential to cement their position in an increasingly crowded market. Awards, one of the few mechanisms that both differentiate and build industry credibility, were identified as the most effective way to elevate their profile and clearly articulate their value proposition.
1. Demonstrating trustworthiness and exceptional customer excellence
The solar industry is notorious for shonky providers and minimal aftercare. Many customers come to RESINC already disillusioned, with around a quarter of their installations replacing faulty or underperforming systems abandoned by the original installer.
RESINC Solar takes a different approach. Their service-first model provides dedicated support before, during and long after installation, backed by a market-leading warranty. This commitment has earned them Australia’s highest customer ratings, with more than 12,000 five-star reviews across Google, Facebook, SolarQuotes, TrustPilot and ProductReview.
Showcasing this level of trust, reliability and long-term care was a key objective. RESINC wanted to highlight that there is a better way to do solar and that choosing the right provider delivers real value and exceptional service throughout the life of the system.
2. Showcasing RESINC’s community impact
A key objective of RESINC’s awards strategy was to highlight their broader social contribution and reinforce their positioning as a values-led social enterprise. RESINC believes commercial success should create community benefit, and their impact reflects that ethos.
To date, they have supported 25 Surf Life Saving Clubs with more than $1.5 million in solar installations, most provided at zero cost, delivering over $300,000 in collective annual savings. They have also donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in in-kind systems to Indigenous health centres, community preschools, sporting clubs and, through the Vulnerable Veterans Solar Program, to Australian war veterans.

Solution
RESINC Solar partnered with Green Door Co to deliver a fully managed external recognition program that removed internal pressure and ensured a targeted, strategic approach. With limited time and resources to handle awards in-house, RESINC outsourced the entire function, allowing their team to remain focused on operations while Green Door Co shaped and executed the awards strategy end to end.
Green Door Co began by sourcing awards that aligned directly with RESINC’s objectives, selecting a balanced mix of international programs for prestige, national awards to build domestic authority, and specialist industry awards (such as the Sustainability Awards and EUPD Research Top PV Installer Awards) to reinforce technical expertise.
